Not a good plan at all. Let me tell you from a former servers point of view I would not be happy and I'm sure 99% of the servers wouldn't be either. However, if you came w/ some friends - then that is totally fine.  I suggest if you really want the rolls just ask for an order or two to go. They can't be that expensive. (I used to work at Macaroni Grill and we sell the bread there for $1.99)

i'm sure they wouldn't be very happy with you, but i guess there's not much they could do... just don't do it very often...

I don't think they'd force you but I'm sure you'd feel a bit pressured. That would be really wrong to do that! It's implied that the rolls are a complement to your meal, not your soda.
