Do you ever guess what team someone is a fan of...?

...Just based on their personality?

I tend to do that a lot w/ people I don't really know. I'll be thinking "hmm...they seem like a White Sox fan..."

Anyone else to that? Or am I the only one? :)

Living in NYC, when I encounter rude, arrogant, narcissistic people I just assume that they are Yankees fans.  I usually ask them; I've never been wrong.

Yeah, I'm a Yankee fan so I have a pretty good sense on whether or not there is another Yankee fan based on how they act, etc.

that's interesting that you and other people do as well...

the only time i can really tell that someone is a fan of something is if they're wearing merchandise from the team or they talk about the scores in a good way. =)

naa, you're not the only one, I think you can.  Plus, if you know where they live or something its easier.  I can't think of a certain time when I have done that but I really think its possible.  Just talk generally about basebal and based on peoples opinions it should be pretty easy to tell.

I can usually tell a Yankee fan. Anyone who knows me knows I am crazy about cats so it isn't hard for them to tell what team I'm a fan of.

I have a pretty good knack for picking out Yankee fans.

No because that is stereotyping...

for example, if I see a drunk, unshaven, dirty fan, who is obnoxious I don't automatically assume he is a red sox fan.

Basically - I am smart enough to know what team someone is a fan because if you know their personality - you should know them. Unless it is on the net - then it is not worth that much thought... but i GET your question..

Haha. Yeah. Since I'm from the Bay Area, I usually guess if they're a A's fan or a Giants fan, usually by personailites, I can tell. =]

Yes!  White Sox fans.  I saw a guy at the Cubs game last week and thought to myself:

"I must be getting older...I would have totally pegged that guy as a White Sox fan"

Mullet hair, backwards hat, tatoos everywhere, multiple piercings, missing teeth.

I do it occasionally.

Like, I'll be talking to someone, and then it'll just pop into my head, like "I bet he's a Tigers fan..."

That having been said, I'm rarely right.  I think I've been right all of two times.
