I know quite a few parents that allow their children to play games like Grand Theft Auto, and watch horror movies all the time.

Do you think that this is harmless to them OR do you think that this will be damaging in some way when the children are grown up???

  1. no, and my son will never.. My hubby and I don't even watch rated r movies or play the games. I think allowing your child to watch or play these  will marked in there mind forever and even play a part in the way they live. You can't watch something so wrong and not expect it to effect a child.  think about this if a child seen someone get killed or some horror in real life this would take a dramatic effect in the childs life.Anyways theres so much bad in this world that he doesn't need to see more bad things.

  2. I think R rated movies and games should be viewed by adults which would be 16+.  Children cannot understand the horror and violence.  You would not be doing a child a favor to submit them to that.

  3. It depends on how old the kid is and how much they comprehend the difference between reality and fiction and how impressionable they are.

For some 13/14 year olds, R rated movies and games aren't a big deal, but for others it would be.

  4. My mom used to let my little brother watch rated r movies. It definitely made him more violent, he started having night mares, would reinact scenes...yeah not a good idea.

    he was 4btw

  5. As young as 5? That's probably gonna cause some issues later in life... children that age shouldn't be spending their time playing video games or watching a lot of TV in the first place.

My parents never let my brother or sister or I watch R-rated movies, but we ended up seeing them anyways for the first time at friends' places and such when we were 14-15. As far as video games, they don't use the same ratings system as movies, so the equivalent would be an M-rated video game, and my brother started getting into the Halo games when we were 13-15-ish. My mom, however, was blissfully unaware of the video games rating system, so there was never any restriction on what we could or couldn't play. Anyways, we all turned out just fine.

  6. No. Mine are 10 and 5. Never played or watched anything rated R. The rating is there for a reason.

  7. i personally dont think they should play grand theft auto or shooting games till they're lyke 12 to 13 bcusz they understand it isz wrong but younger they think its just a video game on and off T.V. and r rated movies it depends on what it isz but you should probably let 13 to 14 year olds watch r rated movies .

  8. lol my parents let me when i was underage and i turned out fine
