Is hideosity a word?  Shouldn't it be hideousness of life.  And, no I don't because there are so many lights in the city where I live and usually so much humidity that you never get a chance to see the stars.  I realize your question was more abstract than my answer presupposes so in answer to the abstract form, no.

There are small bright spots, brief moments of happiness, not joy but mostly life is dark.  Feel better?

Even the stars can make one sad, mind you? But that is of another nature most likely out of excess of love to all that is beautiful in this life, nature in particular.

As for the hideosity, the immensity of human stupidity,  its capacity of evil, ruthlessness and ugliness due to greed, power and other monstrosities, sometimes one manages to prolong the amnesia but would sooner or later wake up to the nightmare and drink the poison.
