  1. Yes, I've thought that.  But then I read the answers and see that there are several different ways of approaching the problem.  YOU might think the answer is obvious but someone else will post a very interesting, thoughtful post that shows the problem might be more complicated than you think.

In fact  I do this sometimes. I'll see a question that I think the person must have meant as a joke, and a few of the predictable responses.  Then I'll say 'You know, that question is more complicated than you probably realize.'  And I'll tell them something they probably didn't know, or look at it from a different perspective.  Sort of like I'm doing here.  8^)

  2. With age and maturity.  I used to be terrible at that, but as life went on, I found it just wasn't worth getting my knickers in a knot over.

  3. It's not old news until you have heard it.  They are asking for a reason; they just don't know and whatever it is whether about religion or s*x or space they might not be able to ask anyone else. How would you feel getting some snazzy azz remark instead of the answer you are seeking?

And sometimes you just don't bother because it will be long and pointless most likely, so you don't bother.

  4. It important to be polite to others.  After all, we expect people to be polite to us even when we do stupid stuff or ask questions that have an obvious answer.  Not everyone is able to figure out everything.
