I see them all the time (and I even live in the city)... it is Pennsylvania's state insect.

Just wait for the summer nights and u will see them. When u do, wear insect repellent because of the misquitios.

Wow, lightning bugs.  You just brought back some memories.

I haven't seen a lightning bug since at LEAST 1976.  That's the year our family moved from a small town in the northern part of Michigan's lower peninsula, to southern California.  I was 14 years old at the time.

We used to run around and catch lightning bugs in glass jars.  Monarch butterflies too.  

Sometimes I miss those days.  :(
