It depends on the person.

Someone with a smart little mouth that triggers my temper will get what they deserve.

Someone who I pity for their insecurities or I feel responsible for will see me turn the other cheek, though I find it hard to do that when they p**s me off too much.

I am a cheek turner who is trying to strike a balance so that I am only turning cheeks for those whom I choose and doing eye for an eye for those I choose to also.

I say do unto others as they would do unto you. If they deserve it then give it to them. If they don't then show remorse. Not everyone is out to hurt others. However, people should live and LEARN from their mistakes. If they are incapable then they should receive the consequences.
