We are close now than we were 2000 years ago. But I believe Scripture is clear, that first there will be a great apostasy, a falling away because of offense, and that the beast Antichrist, the man of sin, will be revealed sitting up his abomination of desolation in the rebuilt Jewish temple and showing himself to be god. (2Thessalonians 2:1-8; Matthew 24:3 ff ). We already see the early stages of the apostasy, And we see Peter's prophecy of the last days of scoffers who ridicule the existence of God, Creation, and the Flood. And the religious Jews have everything in place to begin rebuilding the Temple, short of the peace treaty which would allow it to be rebuilt.

So I would guess that the end is very near, indeed. Very little needs to happen to bring about the last few prophetic events that herald Christ's second coming and the rapture.

We are offening God so much, and there is so much more evil in the past 30 years,  Yes, I truely believe we are close. If you believe the Medjorgorie visionaries, which I do then you'd be getting repenting and opening your hearts to God.

The only rapture I am worried about is the late 1980's pop/rap hit by Blondie.  It is so awful, I want to take a sledge hammer to the radio when it comes on.
