Do you expect your spouse to show just how smart they really are?

Question

I'm a smart guy, i have a great job, ive been out of college for years and i have no intention on ever going back to school!

my wife is smart too, and she complains when i don't use the english language in its proper form! now i only do this at home when the two of us are their, and i never talk like this when we go out or when we have company at our house!

i only talk like that cuz i just feel that you should be able to be comfortable at home and do things you cant in the real world! i walk around naked at home but i don't do that in public!!!

I'm i wrong to do this?

I would say that if you want to keep a happy marriage than you should keep your wife happy.  I don't see a thing wrong with her wanting you to use the english language in proper form.  What is the big deal?  Will it really kill you to do this?  A happy wife makes for a happy home and a contented husband.  If you are as smart as you say you are I am sure you already knew this answer.

As long as you are comfortable in your own abode. You have the option to be who you are, or who she wants you to be. If it tics you off, honey ..you best tell her now. Nobody tells me how to talk!! Sure it tics me off with my husband, but he don't know any better (ha) thats the difference.

No, you're not wrong - it's probably just one of those things that peeves her for whatever reason, just like I'm sure there are petty things that tick you off as well - we all have something! :o)  Of course, if you're completely butchering the English language beyond the point of recognition then I'm gonna have to side with her!  Hahaha.

Where you from? i am from England and went on holiday in the USA last year and was told i didn't talk English in the right way. whats that about? you should be yourself in your own home if people don't like it thats their problem
