I feel that she needs more veggies. However her weight is quite low so she doesn't need steamed veggies. I ususally made a stir-fry, but I want to try other new ways to make it. Thank you.

  1. I am a vegetarian and my 20 month old is also. She has been eating salad since she was 15 months chopped up very fine- almost pureed. Have u tried adding veggies to other meals like spaghetti, mac and cheese etc.

  2. You don't.  My baby is 16 months and does not eat salad, she licks the dressing off and spits out the lettuce.  I would worry she might choke on it as it is kind of hard to chew.

  3. Why not make her salad?  I would do very little lettuce and a lot of veggie toppings, grated carrots, tomatoes, etc.  I think you can just use a little ranch dressing, especially if your daughter's weight is low.

  4. Try using spinach leaves instead of the lettuce - much healthier.  And italian dressing is usually the healthiest dressing, made with olive oil.  My son does not like salad.  But maybe you will have better luck

  5. Why not try make veggie fingers

    or try this website

try hiding veggies in other food

also try making various finger foods for them to try you might be pleasantly surprised what they will eat when left to it

  6. She doesn't need the lettuce.  Make a salad out of just chopped veggies and toss with a mild ranch or french dressing - anything she likes.  Add chickpeas (cut in half) or grilled chicken for protein.

  7. my daughter used to eat all veggie diet till she was about 5....then

the grannies got to her and spoiled her with meat.

i gave all types of veggies..esp salads....cut lettuce small ...

she loved the variety. do not limit the GOOD stuff!

  8. My son loves salad and has since around that age.  Just be sure to cut everything up very small.  I used lettuce, tomato, cucumber, black olives, avocado, etc.  Avoid hard items like raddishes (which she probably wouldn't like anyway) and carrots.  I tend to like to avoid messes so I didn't, and still don't, put dressing on it and he likes it just fine.  Every child is different so your daughter may or may not like it.  Just experiment with different flavors.

It's also ok to steam the veggies.  Steaming is the best method as you cook out only a minimal amount of vitamins and minerals (you don't lose any calories though).

    Good luck!
