Especially if he/she is the only one in the family with this preference?

  1. no.. kids do what is fun/comfy for them... holding back is something we learn as we age. like a two year old will rip off his diaper and dance in the aisles of the supermarket. When I was a kid I actually preferred the toys that my mother and her siblings played with over most of the toys that came out when I was a kid.

  2. I think the simplest and most obvious answer to a question is usually the right one.  I think that a child's choice of toys or play activity just indicates what they like to do! Whether you like toy trains or dolls or blocks does not run in families (thank goodness ... how boring would that be)

  3. I think what more important is if the toy may be indicating what they'll be doing in the future. Many interesting/unique things a child does can just be evidence of something greater that he/she is to do in the future. They might just have a strong inclination for what they will naturally be good at as an adult. Many prodigies have stood out in the beginning from the differences in the way they played.

  4. No.  Most of the toys today did not even exist in past generations.   I mean, did our grandparents play 'Guitar Hero?"

  5. If it does, then I'm pretty sure my kids were Pokemon Trainers in their past lives :D

  6. all i can say is: what a load of bs

  7. No, because I don't believe in past lives on Earth.

  8. What an interesting idea!  I'm trying to think what my kids choices would mean if it were an indication.  Maybe!

  9. Not at all.

  10. No, I feel the child is making an INDIVIDUAL choice.  Just because he is part of a family doesn't mean he is a clone of everyone else in the family...Unless your family is "The Borg" this child is being what he is an individual.

  11. no, thats retarded
