I do. :D

I have a little "thumbs down" fairy following me around and thumbing down all my answers. It's rather flattering that they spend all their time doing this. How about you? Do any others experience this kind of harassment? If so are you flattered or irritated by it, or neither?

  1. I wonder why people thumb down some stuff.  Like when I say I had to bottle feed my kids.  Thumbs down.  Really, is it that bad?  And if I say I dont agree with abortion.  Another thumbs down, because I dont agree.  Sad day.  I wonder sometimes, I really do!

  2. Yeah I know what you mean. I have a fairy too. Most of my answers get a thumbs down because I'm 13 (almost 14), have 6 siblings, people think I'm lying. Whatever! I just ignore it. Who cares? If someone actually takes the time to thumb down all my answers, then good for them. Just take it as a compliment. People can be so immature.

  3. Absolutely! If your not getting thumbs down, your just like everyone else. Who wants that? lol

I too have quite a few friends on here, if you know what I mean.

  4. Hmm i am new to this and didn't know people could give you a thumbs up or down, lol. Well I wouldn't worry about, I'm sure your answers are helpful to some, and thumbs down to someone who has nothing better to do with their time. Really, I guess you could be flattered that they take so much time out of their day just for you! Best Wishes!

  5. Well, I tell ya Texas Mom, whether it's by "stalkers", kids, or people who get some twisted pleasure from thumbs downing everyone, it will happen.

Thumbs down on here mean absolutely nothing. It doesn't affect your level at all. Who cares?

Why give the weirdos pleasure by spending points to ask a question alluding to them? Then they know it bothers you and their evil plan has worked!

  6. Actually, this topic came under discussion today on the adoption forum.  There's wild thumbs flying about there, no question!

I get the TDs mainly (I believe) because I adopted children from overseas and when someone asks a question about overseas adoptions, I answer it rather than accuse them of trying to buy babies or steal children.  Because of that stance, I can answer a question almost word-for-word what the poster below me said and I'll have 7 TDs while that other person has none.

I figure if I don't have at least 5-6 TDs to any given question, I must be doing something wrong.  It doesn't bother me.  Most of the time I just roll my eyes.

  7. lol think I have one too. Doesn't worry me. Sometimes people don't want to hear the truth. And if that is all they have in their little lives then just feel sorry for them

  8. I agree. I get thumbs down for the most ridiculous things. I always enjoy when answers all have TD's but one.

  9. Neither b/c I usually don't go back and check.  If they are thumbing down all your answers then no doubt you made them mad when you gave them some advice that they didn't like, and this is their immature way of retaliating.

  10. I'm definitely flattered.  I noticed that every answer I typed yesterday ended up with a big ol' thumbs down.

I must be a completely awesome person for someone to take the time to follow me around and thumbs down every answer I leave, lol

  11. Yeah, I feel privileged that they follow me around a lot. They may not like me, but at least they're paying attention to me, right? LOL just kidding

In all honesty, it used to bother me, but I really don't care anymore. Heck, I welcome it now.

    Come get me, fairies....

  12. I also have a fairy. I don't care though. I don't answer questions just to give them something to do. I do it because maybe I can actually help someone with a problem they are having. I will be the first to admit that sometimes my answers are not the best but most of them do not deserve a thumbs down.

  13. I seem to have gathered several fairies myself. Even when I answer with sources and good advice I get several. I think some people are simply giving thumbs down to every answer that isnt their own. Its kind of sad when you see people with several thumbs down for answering what they feed their children for breakfast. Or wether they would hire a 13 yr old to watch their children. I can understand the passion on some topics that causes people to TD answers they disagree with but some of the questions are just ridiculous.

EDIT: guess the TD fairy didnt like any of the answers. Atleast I feel less picked on =P

  14. I used to have 4 different "thumbing fairies" on me at once back in the LGBT section, it was crazy! I'm one of the best known members there and I used to be cloned multiple times per day. But that was ages ago...my last clone kicked the bucket in December (I haven't had one on this account, but they stalked my old one). I guess maybe I'm just not that "fun" anymore...

Yeah, I thought it was funny. Kinda like a status symbol--you know you've made it on Y!A when you've got thumb fairies and clones XD

  15. I get it all the time but I never thought I had a "stalker". I even get thumbs down by answering a simple question like "how many kids do you have and how many do you want?" lol How can anyone give a "bad" answer? lol

  16. It's kind of sad that someone would have that time on their hands.
