  1. I am also a fan of Shawn, but part of the reason I like her so much is her attitude towards winning the silver. She understands that you win the silver, you don't lose the gold. There are too many people who do not understand the honor of just getting on the podium. (Need I mention the wrestler from Argentina?)

I do wish that Shawn would have been able to get gold, but the girl from Romania deserved it, she just performed better at that time and Nastia did out-perform in the all-around.

I don't think I feel bad for her as much as I just really want her to win a gold, because she's just been fantastic these games. I know Shawn would love a gold, but I honestly think she's okay with the silver.

  2. I don't feel sorry for her. She just isn't as good as some of the other girls. That Romanian girls routine was amazing! But she still got silver. I really think Nastia did better than Shawn on floor, but she still did well.

  3. She got cheated today. She did better than the Korean girl and should have scored higher.

  4. I feel tremendous respect for her because she seems such a good sport even though you know she has to be hurting inside. She is an excellent representative for the United States and a total lady. I would like to see her win gold.

  5. No. She did really well, but the Romanian gymnast (forgot her name) did much better IMO.

  6. she seems very satified with what she can achieve though i was really hoping she was getting gold a few minutes ago until that Romanian came along.....

but she still has a shot for gold at the balance beam so lets hope she or Nadia bring us back gold and silver again

  7. Why should I feel bad for her.  She has a silver medal in the Olympics.  That is saying she is the SECOND best in the world.

  8. She has three silver medals, that is an amazing accomplishment, not something to feel bad about.

  9. i guess i feel some sympathy, but every gymnast(and person) has a back story and they all deserve to give their best and see what it can do. but luckily we get to see shawn come so close too gold and shes still very young so hopefully we will see her eventually achieve gold!!!
