  1. No.  It's very impersonal.  As said earlier if you are in the army or navy it is just something you get used to but in other walks of life which are less regimented I would prefer to be called by my first name.  Only those in officaldom (i.e. the police or government) should call you Mister or Miss or Mrs as they don't know you personally or have no intention of getting to know you personally.

  2. People have called my by my last name since I can remember.

I have some friends who actually thought my first name was my last name so it wasn't uncommon for them to ask what my last name was.

I've had mom's ask if my first name was really what my last name is (it be such a weird first name).

It doesn't phase me one bit.

In fact, I tend to ignore people on accident when they call me by my first name.

There are only seven people besides family who call my by my first name.

  3. No.  It's just a name.

  4. No, I think its more of a boy thing.

    Or Is that just me?

  5. depends on who it is

  6. Potter (of course in Romanian) doesn't sounds very good. But friends used to call me by the name i've had before marriage, Black, this one is cool isn't it? The whole name reminds me of school.

  7. No.  I like to be called by my first name.  If someone uses my whole name, it reminds me of when I was a kid and mom used my whole name to yell at me for something.

  8. not really i only get called by my last name by my parents and my basketball coach if anything it gets annoying but you get used to it.

  9. I was in the Navy so its not odd to me to be called by my last name.  When I'm called by my full name I feel as though I'm being chastised.

  10. Nobody calls me by my last name but tend to shorten my first name to "Trace".  The only time I ever had anyone use my full name (including middle name) was my mom when I was a kid and was in BIG trouble!!  She would call me in her meanest mom voice and use my full name when calling me and I knew I was really in for it then (LOL)!!

  11. I was in the Army, so it's natural for someone to call me by my last name. Not too many people know my middle name, so if someone called me by my whole name, I would think I was 5 again.

  12. No!

Sometimes, that's the norm in sports and the military, where there are many people there, and it's possible that two or three may have the same first name, so they just use the surname. Simply put, it's very detached,(unfriendly) as is the over use of sir or ma'am. How can you carry on a conversation when every response is yes sir, or yes ma'am.

  13. Only cool if we are playing sports. In the office, add a "Ms." to it.

My whole name should only be used when I am in trouble with my mother.

  14. I don't really care. At work, we tend to go by last names among co-workers.  It makes me no difference.

  15. not really.  only my gym teacher does that.

I never been called by my whole name.

  16. People call me by my last name all the time. I'm so used to it, it doesn't phase me anymore. It's just another name. It doesn't make me feel cool. But, when I'm being called by my fulll name, it means I'm in trouble! ^^
