to replace it ? To this day healthy families are rather traditional with pretty traditional roles in the family, while "alternative family structures" have become synonymous with disfunctionality disfunctional kids and failure, leading up to kids like Steinhauser on the extreme end.

  1. Huh.  Why do you think that?  In my personal experience, dysfunctional families come in all shapes and sizes.  I think "alternative family structure" is only synonymous with disfunctionality in your own mind.

Of course parents have to make time for their kids if both of them work, but in a traditional family model, so does the father.  Kids are at school most of the day anyway.

EDITED TO REPLY to details added:  Perhaps we're talking about two different things, then. You're making the assumption that only households with traditional gender roles are going to survive.  I think you're wrong.  In fact, I know you're wrong from personal experience.

Of course it's not a coincidence that people who come from two parent families on average do better.  But divorce or never having had one parent  present from the beginning is usually a symptom of an unhealthy family, and of course children from unhappy families have the odds stacked against them.  Do unhappy families exist in patriarchal households?  Of course.  Perhaps it takes more for the woman to get up and go in patriarchal households, she might unhappily stick around, but that doesn't mean that the family is happier or a healthier environment to raise a child in.

You're blaming dysfunction on a lack of patriarchy, which is pretty ridiculous.  I could sit here and tell you examples of two parent households with traditional gender roles that are h**l for the children, but if you think that 'parents together and the man in charge' never equals  dysfunction, then you need to take a good look around and find out for yourself.

  2. If the patriarchy is smashed and the alternative isn't a matriarchy (which we don't want it to be), then it becomes a world in which men and women rule together.

Healthy families, in my view, are synonymous with quality of parenting, not quantity of parenting.

  3. Yes.

  4. the more domineering mothers and children without fathers there are, the more serial killers, rapists, criminals and delinquents there are.

thanks feminists, keep up the good work.

    EDIT, thumbs down? in denial?
