Do you feel like sometimes the weather is responsible for your mood?

I find I feel a lot happier when it's warm and sunny, and when it's raining and cold I feel flat and unmotivated to do anything. Does this happen to you?

  1. Sometimes yes. I try to find something that I enjoy even about bad weather (how the rain sounds when it hits the roof, the look of a snow covered field etc). I guess you'd say I love it when it's nice and sunny but when it's not I try to find the silver linings in the clouds.

  2. I definitely feel that way! Warm weather is so motivating.

I often feel like I am a solar panel, and I need the sun to charge me up!

So, if I feel flat when its cold and raining, I get some warmer clothes on and turn some more lights on!

I think alot of people do feel that way. In extreme cases, there is actually a disorder called 'Seasonal Affective Disorder', which a is form of depression that some people suffer during winter, due to a lack of light.

I hope that answered your question.

  3. my therapist says that weather can help your mood, but it is different for everybody, treasure the sun and keep positive during the days you feel overwhelmed.

  4. lack of sunlight is supposed to affect your mood, so one of the reasons that more people are depressed/feel down in the winter is b/c of lack of sufficient sunlight.  There is actually a specific treatment for this that involves shining a light on you in the winter.

  5. Depending on where you live sun-deprevation is surely a factor on how you feel!
