Dripped along side

Freshly planted seeds

Dirt under my nails

Knees and hands connect

Rhythmic movement

Massaging the hurt

Of Mother Nature

Dirt under my nails

Sweat on my brow

Curvature of my back

Greedy impatient earth

Creep upwards under nails

Continuing my brownness

Continuing my greenness

Dirt under my nails

Sweat on my brow

Curvature of my back

Smell of the earth

Reminds me of my

Past and present home

Beauty, tragedy, mystery

all live here and I

for now just

It is a dirty sweaty job,

but it has its rewards in the therapeutic value of watching things grow..

Then to go out and find that some num nuts has stolen my best green peppers right off the bush in broad daylight..

I think. . . ."Ewww, there is dirt under my nails" then go to get it out, go back to task at hand and think. . . . ."Ew, I am sweating and smell rank" so then go in and take a shower.  Then the weeds take over.  Sorry I used so much punctuation and misspelled the word Ewww.

I feel arthritis in my knees.  So I do all my gardening in window boxes.

When I garden I feel like I am correcting spelling mistakes. It feels good to do it and is second nature.

I pulled a weed and made it die

and got the pollen in my eyes
