What do you think about all of these different versions of MS Office? Do you really need to upgrade? Why/Why not?

Do you feel like you choose to upgrade or are you forced to?

  1. It depends on if you often use MS Office in different locations and the different locations use higher versions than yours. That is if you use MS Office somewhere else and forget to save it in as your current version of Office. But if you're just using it at home, I don't think one would need to upgrade immediately, but eventually (In my opinion) you need to.

In my case, I'm using the newest MS Office and  I choose to upgrade, I like the features and looks of the new MS Office.  The downside is that I sometimes have to save it in a later format because not a lot of people have upgraded to the new MS Office.

  2. For Microsoft Office, I chose to upgrade, because I like to be on the cutting edge.  So far my favorite version of Office was 2003.  They only made a few changes that made it easier to work with.  Office 2007 is a total makeover.  I am getting used to 2007.  For operating systems, I am forced to upgrade.

  3. well i supose its a choice

ive got 2007 and its AWESOME

buy it its really worth it

when u get it, iit doesnt seem 2 different but when u use the old verion again u can tell that microsoft office raelly needed this new version

  4. I feel I am forced to upgrade. As for MS Office, I do think each version is a little better, I never pay for it however. It usually comes with a new computer and I buy a new computer every couple of years, more of the so called choice to upgrade you spoke of. The worst offender in the forced upgrade game is MS Media Player, it always "requests" I upgrade and then fails to perfom after due to out dated operating system or something. Nowadays I am wary of upgrades.

We know its all part of the planned obselescence but we are conditioned to be optimistic that THIS upgrade will be better, safer, faster than the last. GOTTA HAVIT!

    You know?

  5. I am in the technical field and have access to all Microsoft products for free, and I still use Office 2000.  So no, you do not need to upgrade.

  6. My Daddy always said:

"If it ain't broke, don' fix it!"

What that means is if you are satisfied with the performance of the utility that you have, and you don't need any further bells and whistles, then you have no reason to upgrade.
