I was nearly crying today when I found outs they put it down, I thought they should have tried to feed its and apparently some people did try to feed its, but the authorities stoped them. :(

Do you think it was right what they did? They left its for nearly a week to fend for itself and then they put it down and didn't even try to save its. :(

  1. It was sad story, but the whale wouldn't have survived.

'They' could have handled the situation alot better though.

Colin ended up being Colleen - it was a girl!

.. and they found the mother washed up on a shore nearby being eaten by sharks a few hours later.  So mystery solved.  Mum had already been dead, she never abandoned her baby on purpose.

  2. Its not right how animals in the sea get treated these days...=(

  3. YES Ella, i felt like you, i came back from work and when

i went on my site the news was there.

Don't be embarrassed, i shed a tear , poor little thing.

You would think that in this day and age, there would have

been more we could have done for it.

This is not just some big fish, it is a mammal , the search

for it's mamma was truly pityful....i just don't know enough

about what resources we actualy have , to say what they

    could or should have done.

  4. yess, they shouldnt have done that :( lol

  5. i thought it was right for them to put it down......

poor thing, it was probably suffering and in so much pain, it was right not to let it suffer anymore

they did try to help it, it just could'nt be freed

  6. It wasn't right. They should have tried to do more for it, the poor thing :(

  7. they must try to save baby whale

  8. THEY DIDNT EVEN TRY! Those stupid so called "experts" just decided that there was "no point" and it was "to sick". BECAUSE THEY DIDNT FEED THE THING! GRRRRR it made me so mad...and they critizize the Japanese for killing whales in Antartica. GRRRRRRRRRRR....There was huge public intrest, surely people would have forked out a few dollars to help feed it. There was NO excuse for killing an innocent baby animal. Poor Colin...Let it never happen again.
