  1. Naw, he has the most gold medals won in a single olympic sport ever!

Bolt deserves it, he is one quick mother ******. I mean that 200 meter, beating Micheal Johnson's record? JEEZE!

  2. Why would you feel sorry for a guy who has a world record ammount of medals?

  3. Why would anyone be sorry for Michael Phelps?

He won 8 gold medals, 7 of them by breaking the World records. Yes, he trained hard, but I'm sure Bolt trained hard for the Olympic as well. If not, he wouldn't be able to break 2 world records while show boating in one of them.

  4. No!  I feel sorry for all the athletes in OTHER sports....that where also breaking World Record and Olympic Records like Michael, but being ignored by the media because it was "sooo important" to ask Michael the same stuff again and again.

Michael was AWESOME!!!!, but there were many other medal ceremonies and broken records that didn't get the deserved "olympic glory" because the media was to bussy with Michael Phelps and his medals.

  5. Yes he worked hard but he won 8 gold medals!!!!!

  6. Hmm, I felt that Bolt's was harder.  He worked his butt off for 6+ years, and had ONE shot at his country's first sprinting gold.  That's why he was so elated that he celebrated 10m before the finish line.  Also, the records he had to beat were insane, especially the 200m.  Phelps is born a good swimmer so if he can win one, he can win alot.

Bolt deserves his success.  Look at him he's so lean, i wonder if he's ever enjoyed a good steak or piece of fried chicken.

  7. lol!

yea i really feel sorry for a bloke who's won more gold in the last week, than an arab sheik has in his collection, not to mention the million dollar bonus from spedo!

  8. NO! michael phelps doesn't even deserve 2 of the gold medals he won. the first being the relay, with jason lezak. lezak deserves the gold for that race, not michael phelps b/c phelps didn't even do anything and he didnt even have a lead. secondly, he won the 100m fly by luck, and everyone knows that cavic actually one that one.

  9. i hate michael phelps i was put off him when i saw his reaction when they disgusting yanks won the 4x200 freestyle relay i mean he looked like a fkn idiot i hate him sooooooooooo much disgusting yank so i really don't feel sorry for the disgusting american pig

  10. I feel sorry for him only because of what it was that fueled his desire to be the best at swimming. He was picked on and teased growing up and he learned to focus his energy into his swimming.  Nothing else.

  11. Well he has more medals to show for it, so duh.

  12. Bolt isnt making more millions that Phelps.

They dont earn anything directly from the Olympics, they may get advertising deals or sponsorship deals because of it - but Phelps will not be worse off in this than Bolt.

  13. No sorry lol. Both enjoying esp Bolt.

  14. I know you ask, with tongue-in-cheek, but I saw this press-coverage of his potential millions as sad in deed.  For some reason I found myself comparing him to Dave Chappelle(stand-up comic and t.v. host)... Chappelle in a Candid interview said there came a time of huge-success in his show where he chose to retreat back to Africa and do some soul-searching....

In more or less words Dave Chappelle says how every actor is tempted to become a prostitute with the body of their craft... and how money, especially tons of it changes everything for that particular individual....and if that wasn't enough the jealousy and stigma that comes from the public..

though I, myself live close to the poverty-income-line here in the U.S. there is a Stigma-of-the-Rich of sorts to.... Professional athletes experience this all the time... they were raised in families with a great-character-ethic... and all the sudden they become overnight-successes and contrary to popular-belief some become over-charitable rather then greedy with their earnings... some go back to their old impoverished neighborhoods and give money to friends, relatives, or anyone they run across in hopes to improve there life as well.....

I use to think that being a Bill Gates, Trump, etc.... would be a care-free lifestyle.... but like the stories above it can be more a curse than a blessing, not just because you have more responsibilities... but because everyone has been indoctrinating that money will solve all your problems... when it isn't always so...

Take our Governments and others just throwing money at poverty and 3rd world countries... this might help short-term.... but it took a huge paradigm shift on how we look at money by recent Nobel-Laureate who invented and implemented his philosophy on interest free micro-loans.... how enough money is given to an individual willing to offer their creative resources to the world... in order to better themselves, the people around them, etc...

All that to say, as unconventional as it sounds, I do feel sorry for Michael Phelps.... for he's a great Role-Model to adults as well as kids... local news reports that memberships to public and private swimming pools are sky-rocketing(like YMCA, 24 Hour Fitness, etc..)

The next few months of Phelps life is definitely going to be a trial-by-fire, we may say that we'd love to trade places with him in an instant, but as for me I'll remain hesitant..... I just hope the character and discipline Phelps posesses can be transferred to his dealings with corporate America, and I do mean His dealings and not that of his agents, for it is ultimately Phelps that gets to decide how he's going to deal with the 'Curse' of his new found fortunes..

  15. phelps won 6 more gold, so im not sorry for him at all

  16. No I don't it was his choice to swim and he did well.  And won 8 gold medals.

Even here in Australia we hear about his win every day.

He will be in adds all over the country
