i do feel bad for her, because i watched her in the quarterfinals, and she was really good.  she came 2nd, and i thought she was going to be a big threat.

I feel sorry for any athlete who makes a mistake. all that hard work down the drain because of one single second.

i don't feel sorry for her, she now has obstacles to overcome, which will make her a stronger person.

people like her have an edge in life.

not to say it was deserved, or funny. but it happened, and she was aware of the risk.

Yes I did feel sorry for her.  It would be devastating to have that happen at the Olympic games.  It has probably happened like once in teh past 5 years and then happens in the biggest event of all.

To train for several years day in day out, to have your dreams shattered in an instant, if you found that amusing you have a fairly sick sense of humour and your not an athlete.

A couple of women fell, and it must hurt as well as being devastated that you're out.  it's not like a marathon where you might be able to catch up.  All that hard work out the window because of one misstep.  I feel awful when they fall.
