Do you feel that the Hummer1,2,3 &4 are necessary for the mankind?

Is there any enviornmental foundations fighting against the giantic car producers such as Hummer1,2,3,,4?

Yup, by lobbying for higher gas mileage laws and stricter exhaust laws and also by educating the public.  Those cars are ridiculously stupid, particularly the later ones that don't even have a frame that allows you to off-road.  All you're paying for is to lug a h**l of a lot of metal around so that you are unable to avoid getting into accidents (big vehicles have lower active safety ratings- you can't maneuver as quickly in them).  It's not s**y, either, because it looks like overcompensating.

Sierra Club and probably every other environmental group.  My objection has nothing to do with environmental damage which is silly to worry about and dubious at best.  I really don't like the tank warfare that is going on so one driver feels safe at the expense of another.  I am surprised they don't offer one with steel plated armor but perhaps they do.  It has gotten a bit ridiculous considering who we are paying to get the oil.
