Do you find hockey cliches amusing?

You know during the in-between period interviews.

Elliote Friedman with Daniel Briere

EF: "Good first period Daniel. What are you guys doing tonight that you haven't done in the last three games?"

DB: "Well you know we're out there skating hard, taking shots. Got a few bad bounces in the last three games but we're giving it 110% tonight. It's a team effort you know. All the guys are skating hard and finishing their checks and getting the puck into their end. We're taking it one game at a time and in the second period we'll try and continue to fire on all cylinders and keep checking hard and giving it our all. We got a good group of guys here and we're hungry for a win and we're just giving it 110%"

EF: "Thank you Daniel. Good luck in the second period."

DB: "Thank you."

EF: "Back to you Bob."

It is very amusing. So are the same mindless questions that these so called interveiwers ask, isnt it pretty much the same 2 questions, either the one you mention or the opposite to the team that has the better of the series at that point. We all know what they are going to say before they even answer. Wouldnt it be great if Briere just said " Well Elliot, first of all we are winning the game and controlling the pace of the game for the first time in the freakin series. We are tired of all the Sid this and Malkin that and we came out of the lockerroom pissed off and are taking it out on those guys. But Thanks Elliot for pointing out that you think we have sucked up until tonight, maybe you want to skate with us next practice".

   Just one time wouldnt that be great?

I love the pens interviews when they mess with Potash. He gets kissed and hugged all the time, it's fun seeing what the players do to him next.

Haha... poor guys probably hear the same questions so many times they don't know how to creatively answer them anymore. There's only so much you can say at a bench-side interview.

"Well, I think we need to focus on getting the puck in deep and creating traffic around the net."

I think they should ask them stuff about there evening, "How was dinner last night, Daniel?  What did you have to eat? That sounds tasty.  Back to you, Bob."

Especially since the poor interviewee has usually just skated off the ice, is dripping like a faucet, and trying to catch his breath...for God's sake give the man a towel, he's dripping on your shoes :-)

Hey maybe it would be easier to get new fans to watch hockey if they would give real answer to those questions instead of just trying not to say something they shouldn't

haha yeah, if they were completely honest, that would be hilarious. They gotta filter out the bad stuff for tv. America has to have the mind set, try hard, give it your best, and the other team is really good ( Even if they are not)
