Question:

Do you find it harder to be more creative with boys names?

In my opinion a boys name HAS to be masculine and strong... whereas, with a girls name you have so much more room for creativity and uniqueness, it can even be a little masculine...

For this reason my favourite names are:

BOYS:

Cole, Evan, Jacob (Jake), Jackson (Jack)

I also love: Logan, Nathaniel, Caleb, Zachary but I fear these are too feminine?

The middle names I tend to team with these names seem to never go much further than Thomas, Alexander or James.

GIRLS:

Esme, Anya, Evelyn, Sophia, Natalia, Alaina, Gracelyn, Nia...

and for middle names, Faith, Grace, Rose, Jasmine, May, Kate, June

Does anyone else have this problem being creative with boys names? I dont want my little boy to have the same name as 10 other children, but i want his name to be masculine, and not made up!

  1. I don't think any of the boy's names you mentioned sound feminine. I really like: Evan James or Evan Alexander, Jackson Alexander, Nathaniel James or Nathaniel Thomas..

girl's names.. I really like Jasmine or June as first names, not sure about middle names though.

  5. I don't care if my boy's name is creative and unique. I only care that it's suitable for his whole life, that it won't make things hard for him or get him teased, and that as a grown adult it won't make it hard for him to be taken seriously.

Actually, that's the exact same way I feel about my girl's name too.

You don't want him to have the same name as 10 other children? That's dead easy. Call him John or Fred. They'll all be called Jaden or Caden or Hayden.

And how the heck are Nathaniel, Caleb and Zachary feminine? They're traditional boys' names! Seriously, how many girls do you know called Nathaniel?

  6. Yes, a boys name HAS to be masculine. The only name that has a little bit of feminism is Caleb. Possibly Logan because I have heard of girls names Logan. My favorites are Cole, Jacob, and Zachary.

For girls I like Anya, Sophia, and Alaina.
