Question

the universe uses our exact opposite method of 'growing'....

our cells divide.... but in the universe, the form of creation doesn't come in division, but in addition.....

this is true in everything from dust to galaxies.

just something i noticed and found intresting.... (no i don't mean any real significance behind it.... no conspiracy theory, no doomsday myth)

Not exactly. While stars form in clusters by nebulas, these stars form with material from stars that died long ago, which react in the nebula to form a new star. The universe is expanding by the force of dark energy.

But if you get down to it...matter is never created or destroyed, just transfered between different states of existance which would be "matter and energy".

The Universe started in the ultimate division; don't you think? Stars die... giving rise to new ones. There's no no contradiction between addition and subraction or multiplication or division.
