Do you find limos an embarrassing and unsophisticated display? Vulgar, for instance, and for those illbred?

I have never ridden in one, and have zilch desire. It seems in the realm of the lower class because it is like cell phones or Hummers--the people I see the most using/riding in them are those who seem from more uneducated backgrounds. Maybe, possibly the noveau riche, but not old money. The town I am posting from is old money and you see very vanilla, middle of the road cars outside. I do not believe I have ever seen a Jaguar here. I did see a Bummer once, but there are always the exceptions...

A lot of people around here use them rather than drink and drive. Plus they are convenient. For one price, they pick you up and will take you home when the event is over. Also you can drink while in them. lol. I don't use them, but I can see why people do.

Yes. Real rich never use the stretch. ..and never need to fit more than 3 or 4 in one vehicle.

It is too late for me to be one of the old rich, I wouldn't mind being part of the nouveau riche, which is a darn sight better than being one of one of the olde poor or even the one of the nouveau poor.  Limos are usually seen where I live ferrying sailors to and from the Great Lakes Base and places like O'Hare.   You can't park the stupid things.  What use are they?

What?  No, I do not find limos an embarrassing and unsophisticated display, nor do I see them as vulgar -- they are wonderful for parties, brides, special occasions, etc.

Edit:  Ahhhhh .... I see now.  I always thought environmentalist wannabes were arrogant and pompous, and you just confirmed my suspicions. Why couldn't you come right out and ask if anyone thought limos contributed to pollution and used way too much fuel?  Now, wasn't that easy?

I have no desire to ride in a limo either, but I do not frown upon those that choose to do so. People want to experience fun in life, and if they find that riding in a limo is fun and makes them feel "rich" I say let them have their moment! It's also not very kind of you to judge those that enjoy limos as being "illbred" and "uneducated." Let people enjoy their happiness. As long as they aren't harming others, I don't see the problem.

I think white limos are ugly, but I like black ones.  I'd only ride in an SUV limo though.  I don't like cars in general.  Limos don't fit THAT much people though.

Funny thing is you could probably buy your own cheap used car limo from an automobile ad and fix it up to make you look fancy.

Well, if it's for prom or for Vegas, then they are appropriate.  Other than that, I see no use for them.
