Like before you even get to know a person and just because of there ethinicity you or the ignorant ones .. automatically assume your supose to be "This way" but you are not and they are like completely surprised......its kinda funny proving people wrong ...

Kinda like me for example I'm black and i listen to nothing but Rock/PostHardcore/screamo music and i know people will be like completely surprised and they think ...."Your black you should like Rap"

  1. People should be able to make their own decisions about their food, music, choice of dress or whatever.  It shouldn't necessarily be based off what ethnicity to are, unless you are doing something that is profiling your ethnic heritage and you have to dress a certain way for it.  My own folks look at me strange because I don't cook as much soul food as they think I should.  But I can make macaroni 100 different ways, with lots of garlic and oregano.  I am learning how to make pasta from scratch like they do in Vicenza.

  2. I agree. I listen to rock music and I asked my friend can I listen to her ipod (she's white) and she goes: " I don't have any rap music on here". I was like wtf?!

  3. stereotypes are all true

    people say asians are smartest

    proof: their IQ 105

you know the stereotypes of blacks?all true

    proof: look at the statists

    .....etc..

  4. Yes, I'm no way like any stereotype they perceive about black women, which is that we are uneducated, promiscuous, have 6 children all by different baby daddies, that go clubbing, wear long nails, the highest we got was high school if that, and live in a low income area. I'm far from that I talk very proper in which people think I'm trying to be something I'm not it's just how I was raised. I was told by my family to never talk any type of derogatory way that embarrasses myself and that's not proper English. And I never could understand why people talk so unintelligent anyway. I'm a very humble person always willing to sacrifice my happiness for others whom deserve it and will mentor anyone who wants to achieve greatness in their life.

I'm 22 years old, a Physical scientist in graduate school earning my doctorate degree. I don't drink, I don't do drugs, I've never dated or had a boyfriend, I've never had s*x and I make nothing less than A's and B's in school and I don't surround myself with drama. I absolutely hate clubs I went once to shut a friend up and will never go again because it was exactly how I pictured it guys trying to hit on me and touching me like they know me and not speaking proper English. I would never meet someone in a club. And I hate nails I always bite mine off, I get acrylics, get them short as humanly possible and within a week I start to bite them off. Everyone around me is positive and achieving their goals; you are who you hang with. I don't "hate" or talk about anyone because it's pointless and I could never be jealous of anyone, if I want something I go for it not sit around talking hatefully about someone else because it's not going to bring anything closer to me and I wouldn't be where I am today.

And I do everything the "typical" black person as society portrays doesn't do. I too listen to all types of music except for bluegrass LOL, I prefer classical in my car. I actually don't like rap unless it's old school because this mess they are making today is not music it's just noise and it all sounds the same. I love to rock climb, go spelunking, cross country ski, and snow board, hug trees, walk around barefoot, and lay in the grass. I would skydive out of a plane in a minute. I went to a predominately white liberal environmental school in the mountains so their hippie ways rubbed off on me and I like it, as far as environmentalism and hugging trees goes. I love being different and I like that I don't have to try, it just comes naturally.

Just because I dress or talk a certain way that's not "normal" black society doesn't make me any less than black; my skin color speaks what color I am, and I still encounter the same struggles. But no one can hold me back but me. If you have the stamina, determination, and support to break any type of barrier you CAN do it and I've done it many times and continue to do so. Most of the time unknowingly.

I am one of the most successful and sought after speakers and leaders where ever I go because people know I give nothing but the best and can produce phenomenal results anytime. So don't tell me that I'm not "black" because I don't do what's expected. I don't care if I attend an Ivy league school with Donald Trump's or anyone else's kids or a low income school, if I'm better quality wise, than I'm just better. Skin color does not define intelligence, YOU DO! And don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise, if that was the case; if we let people define us by our race, there would be no Oprah's, Obama's, or Michelle's in the world for example.

What really is frustrating is that it's not always people outside of our race that accuse us of us of not "staying true" to our race. Whatever the h**l that means. It's the people WITHIN our race, now am I the only one who sees a problem with that?

Anyway I don't entertain ignorance like that and people can think whatever they want about me I'm not on this earth for them. And the next time someone says to you "Who do you think you are" because you're not following the stereotype say "I'm the guy who gets my job done, you must be the other guy" and leave their ignorant behinds at that. Don't lower yourself to their standards.

P.S: I hope it doesn't seem like I'm getting angry at you, just at that question that is very true.

  5. 105 IQ is normal not smart.

    Stereotypes are boring.

  6. I find people who strongly follow the stereotype on their race weird..I knew this girl who was chinese..she tries too hard to be a stereotypical Asian girl. It gets quite annoying at times..she treats me different alot because I don't act as a stereotype. She says I don't act black enough and that I am too asian...whatever that means o.o. (btw I'm half black half japanese) She thinks Japanese people should hate chinese and korean people...which she finds weird that I don't.

When people find out i'm half black they look at me and then ask me questions like "Why don't you speak like a black person" or "you don't act black" or "why aren't you loud if your half black"  eh? wtf..I dunno why people think just because you are of a certain ethnicity that you HAVE to act a certain way or else they don't consider you truly as a white, black, asian etc. it's weird...I don't see what's wrong with a black person listening to rock music..why do people label music with race?

  7. Yeah I'm Chinese, but I'm what people call a banana.. a twinkie.. White-Washed..

It depends on what I look like that day in all honestly.

If I wear my Hollister clothing and R&R, Sevens, Citizens, etc jeans.. I'm White-Washed..

If I decide to wear black, I'm just another bitchy Asian girl, etc.

    It really does depend.

    But yeah..

I wished when I was younger that I could have been born anything but Chinese, but now in my life, I'm embracing my heritage alot more.

I'm proud that I'm Chinese and I'm also proud that I break all the stereotypes.
