  1. Yes. Because all you are thinking about is the pain, and not the taste, taste has a lot to do with the brain, and thought, so when you aren't thinking about it, it is much less enjoyable.

  3. you can relish what you eat when you do not have painful teeth and gums or other dental problems. pain is a huge disturbance and distracts a good moment during meal time. and apparently when you are in pain, you do not have a good appetite not only for food but also for other activities.

    proper oral hygiene can best prevent tooth decay, swollen gums and gum disease. an it would be best to compliment it with natural oral rinses.  have a regular dental cleanings and dental visits.
