  1. There is no such thing as "normal" in this situation. It is all about individual preferences. I think that it's wonderful that you are!

  2. Mourning a living thing, even an animal, is perfectly normal. I would do it for my two doggies. But I wouldn't leave money to a pet, I would give it to a person I trusted to care for it though.

  3. No and no.

I've never known anyone to have a burial service for their dog. Most people I have spoken to that have had dogs die have either had them cremated or buried them themselves - my old guy we buried ourselves, illegal as it is. I've never met anyone that's actually had a full-on funeral for their dog, although I rather wish I could've had one for mine. He deserved it.

As far as leaving an important amount of money to a pet, no. First of all, you need to HAVE an important amount of money and while the gesture is nice and all, and ensures the pet lives in luxury for the rest of its days, no. I don't see a point, really. I'd rather leave my pets to the ownership of someone I would trust with my life, even if they don't necessarily have the money to pamper the pet. The pet would feel more loved with someone it knew than it would if it had a few million bucks.

  4. when Rex died, the dog of a very rich man in our town, he had a 20 car funeral, had the whole town respect his dog, had a huge monument built at the grave and one in town centre, then had his own last will written for his other dog, all his entire estate, estimated at one billion as he also has the airfield here and planes and docks.

Now you go expalin that to the street people and see who agrees,,,,,,

But i do find it normal, as that is what you ask here, the man does love his dog and its his money, the poor street people can go suck a finger as can you

  5. I think it's a bit extreme to have an actual burial service with urns or caskets, and no, I don' think large amounts of money should be left to pets.  I understand why one would want to leave enough money to see that the animal is well taken care of until its death, but not millions as some have done.

  6. "Do you find that it is normal to have a burial service for a beloved pet(dog)?"

    Normal?  No.  Understandable?  Absolutely.

"And do you believe(as has happened in the past) to leave an important amount of money to a pet?"

Yes, kind of.  It's important to have someone designated to care for the pet after you pass and then to leave them a sum of money to care for the pet without burden.

You'd be surprised how many dogs end up in rescue because the owners die and didn't have a plan.

  7. Sure. people should do what they need to do. we are all different and shouldn't judge.  There is no such thing as "normal" when it comes to grieving.

  8. i don't see any thing wrong with that

  9. My old vet had a pet cemetery on her farm so people could bury their pets there.  I think that is a nice thing, kids like that.

  10. We buried our first Great Dane and will do the same for the second. I personally don't give a d* what other people may think it's my business and my right. I plan on burying myself and not getting cremated so why would I not want to do the same for something I considered a member of my family?

As far as the money goes it's yours do what you want. Again who's business is it if you want to leave it to your animal. My dogs have been as close a friend to me as many people who would like to call themselves my friends.

If that's crazy then I guess I am.
