It can be anything - in my experience, yes, but I think I've changed a lot, as in I'm much much less judgemental having experienced a few things myself, and I find that it's not always a maturity thing - for example many older people can be rigidly set in their own ways and lack total empathy and I've noticed it's often them who have a higher tendency to judge without having experienced that thing themselves.

  1. In the past, yes, I used to be much more judgmental toward people when I had not shared in their experiences. However, now after having had some of those very experiences that I used to use to judge others, I'm MUCH more empathetic. Looking back on some of these things, I realize now that the reason I was so judgmental before I had gone through them was because I just didn't understand where others were coming from.

Now that I am able to see where my lack of understanding has brought me, I'm much more careful when I find myself feeling like judging someone. In that situation, I always try to remind myself that I probably do not know all the facts of the situation, and that the person who is doing the behavior that I find unacceptable may have a very good reason for doing whatever it is they're doing.
