Pepsi tastes better than Coke in all its forms EXCEPT fountain sodas (ie. McDonald's Coke would taste better than McDonalds Pepsi)

is it just me or is this true with you too?

i like coke way better. i went to the fair and i had diet Pepsi cause they had no coke and it taste like bubble gum but i mostly drink diet coke

The problem you have found is the way they calibrate their fountain machines. These machines have to be set to a certain percentage of CO2 and water to syrup. When they are not set properly, they either taste too sweet or not sweet enough. Often the sodas taste better or less syrupy because they run through a water/CO2/syrup system rather than sitting in a bottle or can where the syrup can intensify. When the canisters or boxes are changed out in the fountains, they should be the same as the ones before them, but the calibration can slip over time...This is why it tastes different.
