  1. The entire western world is based on the philosophy of Aristotle.

Aristotle's work: THE ORGANON, set the basis for western thought right up until the present day.

All western science is totally based on Greek philosophy, again, especially on the works of Aristotle.

Even the Roman Catholic church changed its basis of argumentation from Plato to Aristotelian logic & rhetoric.

Rome's contribution to western civilization was basically the Law, and very little else.  But Greece contributed to every practice that is done today in the 21st century: math, medicine, music, astronomy, language, literature, architecture, and all sciences in general.

  2. I guess you could say so. Philosophy not so much; it wasn't necessarily started in greece. But there are some aspects of culture and government about western civilization that has been based off other older civilizations. The main reason is that we saw that these things worked, or in the case of the olympic games, were enjoyable, and we decided to use/continue them.

  3. Hey, Yes I follow the Greek philosophy of Stoicism, I think Greek philosophy has had a major influence across the world, it has influence christianity, Islam and to a lesser extent Buddhism. we live by Greek ideals like philosophical ideals and political ideals. The Greeks are a wonderful race and have done so much for civilisation,
