  1. Albinism can affect anyone of any race, and for that matter, many animal species as well.

    It is a recessive trait related to what genes you inherit from your biological parents, not ethnicity.

Skin color is caused by both the production and deposition of melanin pigments.  If a person has two mutant copies of a gene involved in the production pathway s/he won't make the pigment and will be an albino.  Alternatively, the person might produce pigment, but be missing enzymes responsible for depositing it in the skin.

    Any person could carry a mutant copies of these genes.

  3. You do get white albinos, we had a little girl in our street when I was growing up, she had pink eyes and very little vision (I think a lot worse than Darnell's).
