I noticed a lot of places do that... I'd save the water & glasses.  If I want water, I'd ask for it.  I'm a coffee drinker as well.  I agree, just get me my coffee!

Um, it depends.  Some restaurants, in order to conserve, wait until you request water.  Coffee... well, you've got to order that.

i like it, if you get tiered of driniking coffe, there is water beside for you to have, which i like, but it all depends on the restaurent, it tend to like to have water with other soft drinks. I thend to drink sprite, coke and stuff really fast

Not usually, but I don't mind when I do...why do so many people here seem to not like that? What the h**l, are you alergic to water or something? Who's forcing you do drink it? Who's forcing you to even TAKE it? If it really bugs you that much, be a mature adult and kindly tell the waiter or waitress "No thank you" not that hard people!

Yes I do. But it doesn't really bother me as long as I get what I did want.

That true one day at bed time I wanted a glass of water and my younger the brat was the last one to go to bed and my mom told her to get me a glass of water and she went into the bathroom and got it from the toilet isn't that a b--.  Made me sick and mom punished her.

All of the time, and the thing about it is that I have been going to the same diner for lunch 5 days a week for the past 7 years. I always tell this idiot, just a coke, no water and here comes the water, then the coke.

I finally got to the point where I run her to death over the water. Can I have some lemon to put in it? I actually needed more lemon, can I have a glass of ice, the water isn't cold enough, that's why I never order it. She don't get it. DOH!

Oh I know that feeling.  Fortunetly for me, I have some of the Necter of the Gods right now.  It's so tastey.

depends on the resturant. If you ordered just coffee  and a meal then yes i would bring you water as it would be more thirst quinching than the coffee.  If they offer you complementary water, its just their way of trying to take care of you. To make sure you always have something to drink  incase they can't get to you before you need a refill.

usually if you order a drink that is more expensive such as wine and coffee you will get a glass of water with it
