This is regarding tennis. In matches I can rally with some power, but apart from smashing, my swings dont have that much power in them.

I've just turned 17, so when I'm 21 will I be a lot stronger? Or not much?

  1. no as you get older you get weaker

  2. It all depends on the specific individual, it can vary from person to person. But in tennis terms, assuming you keep up with hard consistent training, 9 out of 10 times you will be a much better player as a 21 year old than a 17 year old due to natural physical and mental maturation, but mostly mental. Again it depends on the individual as everyone's mental and physical maturity curves are different and can never true be predicted. Only time will tell.

  3. Yes if you practice work hard and life weights you should be good.  Oh yeah also eat a lot of nuts, meat, beans, and other stuff that gives you protein.

  4. lets just say it like this... if you work out more than YES you will be stronger. but the thing with age is that your mind tends 2 play differently when older so when your 21 you might not even wnat to have swings with power in them... and anyways you can always but those huge Oversizes with like extremely low tension to let your racket generate it's own power...

  5. yeah....you can get growing until the age of 21 ..it depends...but yeah most of the time just '' Work Out''

  6. ppl keep getting stronger til 30, after that plop, time to take ur vitamins so u can last as long as possible lol

  7. i did, i'm 21 and i'm stronger now than when i was 17, but i guess that depends, i'm a girl so that  must inffluence in someway, but my shots are definetly improved and got stronger.-

right now i'm not playing very much cause i just got my cast removed from my leg, so i haven't been playing this last two months, i hope i won't be rusty, hehe.-

still, you have to work hard and practice a lot.-

    good luck.-

  8. For men they stop getting stronger at around 24, naturally. Of course if you constantly work out you'll remain strong.

  9. meh.  i don't know.  look at tennis players who are good.  i'm sure they all have different development rates.  and some might work out at an older age.  it's tuff to tell.  like look at tiger woods in golf.  dude got a lot stronger.  that's just my only opinion

  10. you will be a little stronger but if you want more power on your ground strokes focus on your racket speed.

  11. Simple question: Why is it so much more competitive and harder to win in the men's division rather than the boy's?

Answer: Not only do you get stronger around the 20's, you also get more experience.

Strength in tennis isn't determined by brute strength alone.

  12. Depends on how much you work out.  If you work out more, you'll be stronger.  If you work out less, you'll be weaker.  Diet also plays a role.

  13. not much
