Do you get a varsity jacket for volleyball?

With most schools, if you play a varsity sport (volleyball included) you receive a varsity letter at the end of the season. At my school, you can then purchase a Letterman jacket to place the letter on, but it is with your own money.

In my school you get a letter  for any varsity sport you just have to purchase your own Letterman's jacket. I played volleyball and I got one.

If you earn a letter and you can afford it go get that jacket!! It's your money though unless your school is SUPER generous. But they are custom made so I doubt they do it for you. I've lettered 3 times so far and I got a jacket. If you earned it flaunt it! You've got to have something to showcase your letter and pins right?

For the school im going to, you have to play any vasity sport for two years to get one, and you also get a letter sent home meaning you are receiving a vasrity jacket.

I dont know your school rules, but yes you do get a varsity jacket for volleyball! (=

Hi.  It depends:

*Your school has a Varsity team:

    - But they only let people letter if they are one of the best

    - They let anyone letter, so yes, you get the option of                         purchasing a letter jacket

*Your school has a Junior Varsity and Varsity team

    - You make the Junior Varsity/JV Team.  So no, you would not get that option.

      - But they only let people letter if they are one of the best

      - They let anyone on the Varsity Team letter, so yes you would get the option

Those seem to be the only cases that my school, and other schools I know of do.

You don't automatically get a letter if you are on Varsity.

Points are given to players for each game they play. (Subbing in for one play constitutes one game played.) At the end of the season, coaches add up the points and award varsity letters if a player has over a certain amount of points. It is possible that you can be on Varsity and not letter in the sport.

The Jackets are almost 95% of the time not given out by the school. You can purchase these on your own and have the letter sewn on. If you get multiple letters, they will instead give you a pin to add to the letter to show you have more than one.

in mine, we don't instead my coach orders hoodies that have our number/name/position/etc on it every year
