Last week I was walking down down with my lil niece. She is 18 months old and wears a size 2t. She is not fat but very tall for her age. Her father is 6'3. Her mother 5'5.

This lady come up to me on the street and say aww she is cute, how old is she. I said 18 months..then the lady said, there is no such things as little kids anymore! It annoys me when parents tell me that My niece should be like this or like that...Your input

  1. It's really not that serious to me.  There really are no "little" kids anymore.  My niece will be 2 and she wears a 4T; my son is 12 months and wear a 2T. It's really not a big deal to me.  I'd rather have a big healthy child any day, so it doesn't bother me the least.  Plus, there are so many other things to worry about in my life...that just isn't one!

  2. No one has ever said anything like that to me before.  If I were in your position, that woman would have had my hand print on her face.

  3. I have the same problem. My daughter is seven and has always been very tall for her age. People always assumed she was older than she was and therefore expected her to act older. She still is a head taller than all her classmates. I just don't want her to grow up and be self conscious about it so I always tell her she's "Nice and tall" and talk about the advantages of being tall. At seven, she's still not really aware of how much taller she is than most kids. I keep hoping she will hit a platoe and the other kids will catch up before she gets a complex from all the people who comment on it. I think she's wonderful and beautiful!

  4. When my daughter was 18 months she was wearing 4t clothes.  Yes, people should mind their own bussiness and say only positive things.

  5. Yea dude that pisses me off well with my son he does things his way he 2 but he didn't really start talking until now just started saying mom and dad yes i know he should start babbling those words at 6 months but when people say he a slow baby I want to smack the dog c**p out of them but I don't my son isn't slow he just try to much at a time, for example he didn't crawl and then at 10 months I sat him down and he was crawling all over the place walking same one day he couldn't stand next day literally he was walking I guess I push him a little hard but when someone say he a big boy I'm like d**n straight so he can knock your kid on the ground. Love my boys!!! The other is only 2 weeks so no comment on him yet..lol

  6. No, it doesn't annoy me because sometimes I do that too.

  7. Ugh, that must be so annoying. People are always commenting how small I've always been even now that I'm an adult I can still remember being a kid and not being "normal" because I'm on the smaller side. Last year I was out shopping with my mom at JoAnn fabrics quilt shopping and I was reaching for some fabric and some lady goes up to me and says oh it must be a pain being SO SHORT! I turned around and gave her the dirtiest look. Then earlier this year I was volunteering at VBS and one guy came up to me and said oh good thing they got you a shirt, somebody might mistake you for a kid! Ya it's annoying but I've learned to deal with it. Who's to say who's normal and who's not, I say as long as you are happy and healthy you are good to go.

  8. Yes, my son is 9 years old and only 48 lbs. (he is about the size of a 5 year old) When people say "he is really small" he pipes  up with I am really smart too. Or I will say he is perfect and I will keep him just the way he is.

  9. It annoys me too.  My son is 2 1/2 almost 3 ft tall and 35 lbs.,  he has always been bigger, not chubby...just really tall...which I don't know where he gets it from...I'm 5'4" and 120 lbs. My husband is 5'11" and like 170.  Anyways, I get comments on him all the time..."He's only two, he looks like he can be in preschool"  , or "It must be the steroids they are putting in the milk and food now-a-days"  I want to be like SHUT UP, I find it very rude, I just learned to ignore stupid people.
