  1. Generally, the only 'charge' will be from your minutes pool.  You won't pay extra unless you use up that pool of minutes in your billing period.  Some phones have free incoming calls for the first x minutes, which don't subtract from your minutes pool; some plans let you accumulate unused minutes from one billing period to the next.

A few plans don't include national long distance and have a local home area.  If you're not in that area, you will face a long distance charge whether making or receiving calls.  Most plans include nationwide long distance and this won't be an issue.

Also, if you are not on your home carrier's network, you may face roaming fees.  These are charged regardless of making or reeiving calls.  Some plans include no roaming and you won't face these charges.

If you're not sure, try calling 611 from your phone.  This is almost always a no-charge call and will get you to your phone's customer service department.

  2. NO. The only person getting charged is the person who made the phone call. The only thing that will happened on your ends is you'll just use minutes from your plan. NO worries. K?
