I am going to ground school in a month and going to start flying soon so I need to go get my Class 3 Medical but I do occasionally have some of the herb, just to relax, for stress etc. I don't do it much, maybe once, or twice a month? I was just wondering if they drug test you when they take your urine for the Class 3 Medical in Canada?

  1. If they dont they should we dont need pot heads an  druggies flying around, get real fella!

  2. No they dont as a rule, but if the aviation medical examiner even suspects you use drugs he can request it. Urine test in canada is looking for blood in the urine and your sugar levels to see if you are diabetic and nothing else.

If you fail a drug test or if you are ever caught driving or flying while intoxicated you will lose your pilots license for life!

You may get your drivers license back after a DUI but you will probably never get to fly again.

Nothing personal but i do not want people flying near me that use drugs or drink and fly and most of the pilots i know will turn you in if you show up around the airport smelling like pot!

  3. I sure hope they test you.

  4. Unreal....

  5. In Canada, your Medical Certificate will be either Category 1 or Category 2.  You will need Category 1 to fly commercial.

The Aviation Medical Examiner can test you for whatever he/she deems necessary to ensure you are medically fit. If you get caught with any illegal drugs in your system, you can kiss your Certificate and chances of becoming a pilot good bye.
