Question:

Do you get embarrassed watching sexual scenes in films with friends/family?

My dad is so obvious when one happens. He'll start to talk about something trivial like the state of their clothes, or how nice the bedroom is etc. My mum would switch over.

I'm 27 and I still get uncomfortable. Is it just me? What do other people do - walk out of the room?

  1. it makes me feel uncomfortable and i think that most of the s*x scenes should be toned down.

  2. no your not alone! seriously! i just look at the clock and try to work out how long it is after the watershed or even if its a DVD i still look at the clock! my brothers friend coughs very loudly to try and disguise it! my mum normally looks and me and my brother and huffs a bit saying its inappropriate! its a natural thing to be embarressed i think!

  3. Yeah i dont like it either, even if my kids are sat in the room for some reason it makes me smirk nervously i wish they wouldnt put kissing scenes ect on tele

  4. My daughter and I would look at each other and start calling out for the cat. We'd make funny faces and laugh.

I tell her it is ok for her to watch such scenes being 19 now, especially when it is between married people.

I do not encourage watching p**n though.

  5. yeees i just listen to my ipod and pretend to be asleep....

  6. I say something like.."Oh this is appropriate isn't it!" as a way of breaking that tension...or I laugh and say "Oh no! cringe scene! Quick turn over!"

  7. OMG!!! I hate it! I cringe even when a kiss gets too passionate, my dad will try to make a joke out of it which I guess is good because we all then turn to my dad and say 'Dad!! you're disgusting' at which point it will all be over! I hate it and I am grown with a family!

  8. yeah I do!! and I have two brothers so its kinda awqard when

a s*x scene is shown. what I normally do is I just walk out of the room and say I need the loo or something and then I dont show up again.

    hahaa :P

  9. Yes definietly. Especially with my mum, she gets all funny and is really imature about it. Its really awkward watching any movies like that when shes around and most of the time i avoid watching movies like that with her around... lol.

  10. I hate it.  My ex wife would tell me that it was due to my own fear of intimacy, and would then take that (very small) opportunity to tell me exactly (again) what was wrong with me, and why I didn't deserve to even be on the same planet as her.

I'd say  "What does that have to do with who the d**n killer is in this movie, and can we please discuss this later (again) tonight for several hours instead of engaging in marital copulations?"

  11. lol! im always uncomtable with things like that. I either go all quiet and look around or i laugh really weirdly

  12. no

  13. hahaha. i am 28 and this still happens to me too. i just don't think you want your parents to think that you have a s*x life, and vice versa.

  14. Im older than you and i still get uncomfortable lol.

My dad tends to try to difuse the situation by making slurping / slopy kissing noises, and we end up laughing.
