I got FAFSA, but I am planing to move from my parent's house (FL) and marry my bf (NJ) after I get my bachelor degree, since I do not get much financial aid living with my parents.

If I marry by law and live in an apartment with him do I have chance to get better financial aid?

  1. If you just move in with your boyfriend, do not get married, and are not 25 years old, then your parents income still determines your financial aid, as unfair as that is.  However, if you do marry your BF or have a baby, then you are considered an independent student and your financial aid is determined by your tax returns or you and your husbands.  Since I don't know anything about you and your BF's income, that is the best answer I can give.  Good luck!

  2. yep, once you get married you can fill out the fafsa for the following school year with your and your spouses financial information. check out www.collegetipsntricks.com/blog for more info.
