  3. You feel like your eyes are dry and sore, and your nose burns a bit, and perhaps your throat feels a little tight, when you go swimming.  This is because there is too much chlorine in the water.

    Many public swimming pools in the UK use a lot of chloring in the water. In Europe, they tend to use a lot less, because people shower before they get in to the pool so there is less dirt/makeup/sweat going into the water.

    If it is a public pool, you could try complaining to the manager and asking about the chlorine level.  If it is a private pool, then you should use less chlorine, and if you have trouble keeping the water clean then better pump/filters and showering before bathing are good ideas.

    Failing that, try goggles to keep the water out of your eyes, and a nose clip.  An antihistamine might help with some of the symptoms, but I doubt it.
