Do you get housing benefit? Are there other benefits I could get?

I am hoping to get a 500pm flat, but have really low income, and am applying for housing benefit- how much might I get per week? I don't understand what is on the website. And are there other ways I can get more money (don't say work more, I am a full time college student), so really I am talking about other benefits?

i was going to say council tax benefit but youre a FT student so you wont be paying any council tax

You cannot usually get Housing Benefit if you are a full-time student, unless you are disabled or have children.

why dont you share?  its MUCH cheaper

Full time students cannot claim housing benefit, JSA or income support (unless disabled or a parent) so no you will not get any help. Your student loan is supposed to cover rent etc.  ÃƒÂ‚£500 per month is a lot of money, as a single person even if you were entitled to housing benefit you are unlikely to get anywhere near that.
