the math SAT II IIC (2) covers more topics, but are you thought of as "lower" for taking the math IC exam instead?

Which is better and does it make such a big difference?

  1. not at all, I'm applying to many schools that require a 1300 or higher on the math and verbal SAT, and on their websites, they just tell you that 2 subject tests are recommended.  I took math level one and United States History.  The subject tests are designed to show colleges what you're good at.  With that said, if you want to go into something like engineering, then I would consider taking the Math level II.  But let me forewarn you, it's a h**l of a lot harder than level one, but each correct answer is worth a lot more than a correct answer for level one.  For example, if you get 45/60 on the level one, you're looking at a 650-700, if you are genius enough to get 45/60 on level two, you're going to get an 800.  So, they're weighed differently, but are both going to make you a better applicant to a college.
