1. Yup, I sure do. One of "my girls" (moved away 4 years ago, but kept in touch with her and her family) emailed me a picture of her taken for her Senior Prom and tears ran. She was so beautiful. From a cute little 4th grader to a lovely young woman. (My girls/guys are girls/guys I've taught in 3rd/4th grade Sunday school and those have kept in touch with me over the years. I've been to 5 weddings of 'my girls and guys'. I'm getting the daughter of one of 'my guys' in Sept of '09 in my class).

There's a video clip of the Patriot Guard Riders escorting the body of Lance Corporal Geoff Fisher, USMC in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma that really can get me teary eyed, even though I've seen it countless times. Here it is:

  2. Absolutely, since my husband divorced me for a younger woman and forced me to file bankruptcy because of credit card debts we both made. He gave me our home of 30 years but I have been unable to sell it with the slow housing market. I am all alone in the world and that makes me sad too. I could not have children when I was young and now I think about that. I guess I am just a mess. But I know some are worse off, I'm sure.

  3. Good morning to you....

I'm definitely more sensitive to things. I may not cry at everything but certain things send me to my thinking chair where I tend to over think.

  4. No I was never a weeper even when young. I grew up in a time when males weren't supposed to cry.

  5. Oh yes.....all the time. It's almost getting to be too much. And it can be happy or sad tears. When I hear a sad song, or watch a movie with either a happy or sad ending. If I start thinking about things that are possible in the near future, here come the tears.

  6. OMG Yes !!

At the drop of a hat !!

    No wonder children think

    that Grandmothers are

    such a push over !!

    Because we can be,

whenever we want !! LOL !!

  7. First of all, WTF with the jerk who is giving the thumbsdowns?

Second, the answer to your question is yes. Each time I lose a loved one, the feeling of sadness rises higher to the surface, and it takes less and less to trigger it.

On the plus side, I get teary with joy more often now, too. So that's good.

  8. No I don't any more. I thank God that I have learned to except that which I cannot change. I'm 78 now.

I worked on the issues of my first & last born till it made me sick.

I went to the Lord & turned them over to him & I left them there.

    My other 3 children,hubby & I don't understand, but 1 day we may.

All of us tried for unity to no avail. We are at peace. God is in charge.

The rest of us have many family get togethers & never mention them.

They made their own choice. If they are happy, I am happy for them.

    End of story.

My Mother said, when she found she was terminal, that she wanted to cry, but the tears wouldn't come.

I wish to God that I had ask her,

"Why she wanted to cry" ? ~~~~ To late now. She's gone 23 yrs.

  9. It seems my husband gets more teary eyed anymore than I do I use to be so sentimental and not so much anymore but he is, gosh why couldn't he have been that way when I was, I guess he has toughened me up over the years I guess its like s*x he hit his peck young and me older oh well that's life. Have a good one I hope I didn't offend you sorry.

  10. I am an old softie, music, films, books, and memories

can all bring on an attack of the sniffles.

At the present time I cannot talk about my youngest

granddaughter 18months without filling up, she is so

beautiful and I am so lucky. - oh stop it I am filling up now!!!

    Cheers. CC

  11. No, I don't tear up as much as I get older because strength, understanding, and being jaded has really caused me to build those walls where tears are few and far between

  12. Yes, I can read a greeting card and tear up!!

  13. Oh yes, and I absolutely hate that!

  14. Yes you do it just goes along with the ageing process..

  15. Loss...<sigh> As we move on in years we become more acutely aware of those things and people that have been torn from us. Not only do we feel that but it sensitizes us to the plight of others. So the answer is we do become more sensitive as we age.

  16. I am much less sensitive than in my younger days but since I lost my Mother ten years ago I am always on the verge of crying my eyes out.....a piece of music, seeing something that belonged to her, seeing the sadness in my Dad's eyes when we talk about her, photographs of us together, all make me fight to control my emotions.....I used to cry about other stuff, men, friends.....none of that moves me anymore, seeing other people grieving will do it though, seeing someone suffering will do it, the world the way it is makes me sad, war and killing, that kind of stuff.

  17. Hello, Only tears of joy, as the tears of sorrow ran dry years ago. Laugh and the world laughs with you, cry and you cry alone.

  18. I think it's rheumy eyed as you get older! lol.
