  1. Running in the rain you get more wet because your feet splash more water on you.

  2. If you walk to the car in the rain it takes longer to get there and you get wetter.   If you run,  you get their faster and will be drier because you were in the rain for a shorter period of time.

  3. no

  4. Whether you get more wet is dependent on a whole lot of other factors so in short no not neccessarily true.

Factors to consider are duration of exposure, type of rain, direction the rain is falling, direction the wind is blowing, other factors like presence of useful "blockers" - be they other human bodies or physical objects.

To put it simply - if it is a light raining situation and it only takes you 5 seconds to run to a shelter you are not likely to be wetter than somebody who walks 20 seconds to get to the same shelter.

However if it is a heavy downpour and it takes you 1 minute to get to a shelter, you won't be any drier than somebody who takes 4 minutes to walk to the same shelter.  Both of you would be drenched anyways.

  5. Mythbusters said "plausible" but I think the difference was minimal between the two event

  6. Theoretically, it depends on the horizontal velocity (speed with direction) of the rain.

To stay "as dry as possible", you need to walk with the same horizontal velocity as the rain.  If the rain is coming straight down, you will stay driest standing still.

But using common sense, do you really think it will make much difference?

  7. When you walk you will get more wet than  when you are run, main reason is that you will stay in rain more time . if the walk time is equal to the run time ,there will be small  deference due to area of the body affected by rain ,it will be more when you run

  8. You walk under the trees?

I think the wet is the same.
