  1. depending on the income that your parents get, the EMA amount varies, it ranges from £10 - £30 per week. If you parents earn over £30,000 a year, then the child does not recieve any EMA, which is stupid in my opinion

  2. Baby a lot more than a drop out,,,,

your whole life is in a college degree...

keep studying, an higher degrees,,,its hard

but now is your time to do it...

  3. When you go to collenge yu can start to get your EMA's but will loose a weeks worth if you miss one day

  4. EMA is means tested so as the previous respondant stated it depends on how much your parents earn as to how much you will get; so you could get up to £30 per week, or you get end up with nothing!

However as you are still in full time education your parents should still be able to recieve Family allowance- so they could give you that to keep you going.

  5. apply for that ema thing me and my freind did last week and we should have done it like a month ago

the most u get is 30 pounds

  6. yep you also get it for 6th form. it's called EMA. Its a max of £30. However you only recieve it if yr parents earn less than £30,000 a year

  7. you need to set up a bank account and apply for EMA and they will give you £30 per week.

if your parents own a bit more than others they should give you a bit less than that.

  8. Yeah you will my friend gets paid £30 a week and she is college but i get paid it as well for staying on in highschool but you have to earn under a certen amount and you will recieve £30 but it does depend on your parents income. You also need to be 16 to recieve the money

  9. yes, there is such a thing as Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) for people who enter higer education (16+) whose parents earn under a certain amount. the less your parents earn, the more money you receive per week. i think currently u can get £30 max per week.

but you have to attend all week (i think it includes late marks too) to receive your full EMA.

  10. it depends what you apply for, if your 16 and at school you can apply for an EMA which gives you about £30 a week.

But if your older than that and at college or uni you can apply for a student loan, which can be up to £350 a month, which also pays your course fees. As well as applying for travel expensies
