  1. paid for what? being enrolled in something that isn't final...dont think so.

    the only pay you get, is the time you serve. If you are doing a split option, you get paid for the time you spend in basic, and thats it. same way if you drill...thats it.


  2. If you were in the The Delayed Entry program prior to 1990, that time did count toward Time but not Grade for pay purpose. So although a person might have been in the active military for less than 2 years, if his DEP time + Active time gave him more than 2 years, he would be paid that extra amount.

    They changed that policy and now the DEP only counts toward your Required 8 year Obligation time.  So..... If you spend 6 months in the DEP and 4 years on Active Duty, that means that you still have an obligation of 3 years 6 months in the Inactive Reserves.
