will i be able to talk to my dad if i live in cali??

I got service on my cell phone in Cancun, this was 4 years ago.  Calls were probably expensive though.

There is local cellular service.  Very few cellular services will allow you to roam in Mexico.   Most cell phones will work, but they must be reprogrammed by the local service provider.  If you bring your own, it will need to be reprogrammed.  Remember to have your phone reprogrammed again before returning to the U.S.  If you really need cellular service in Cancun it might just be easier to buy a new phone in México, especially if you will be coming back.

Telephone booths are not equipped to handle all calls and you would probably have to call collect and that is very expensive.

There Are three ways to call Cali Colombia and that is by home phone and a cell if you bring it from Colombia.

You can call collect as a third option.

I could NOT call England from either a phone booth or my cell.

You can call collect if you dail 090 to and international operator $200.00U.S.D is not uncommon for a lengthy call and will be $20.00 for a shot call.

Do not buy a telephone card to call, it simply will not work.

Telephone service has improved ten fold in the past ten years but "Carlos" has to pump a little more to bring it up to snuff"
