Do you get so nervous for the Olympic athletes that sometimes you have to look away for a moment?

I've always had difficulty, especially during the gymnastics. Ice skating just tortures me when they do flips. Any other lilly livers out there?

Being one of the lucky ones who has competed an Olympic Games (20 years ago in Seoul, South Korea) let me tell you, that even if your event is not a dangerous one (where you do flips etc!) it is still the scariest most nervous thing in your life, just getting up on that starting line - trust me! Let me also tell you, that while we may sometimes be disappointed at our athlete’s performances, you can be assured that they are all trying their 100% best - I know I did!

The other thing about watching sport on TV is that it never does the athlete justice. I know my own event, for example, was inhumanely painful, but watching myself on video it looks simple and slow! (I did finish 7th!) so I wasn't a medal winner, but I wasn't absolutely useless either!

Yeah the close races in swimming does it to me every time. When Phelps swim I get all antsy even though he usually has a nice lead on the competition. Jason Lezak should have taught everyone to never give up on a race.

God, I can't watch the divers til I am sure they have cleared the boards. I thought I was the only scaredy cat, good to know there is more out there.

Omg yes!!! I get so nervous! Its because its your country up there, and there is everyone else around the world hoping that thier team wins.. its an awesome but very edgy feeling.. Go U.S~

If the scores are really close and competition is fierce, sometimes it's hard to watch.

I'm not a sporting fan normally but I cant get enough of the Olympics, I think its the fact that the whole world is watching, anytime I see Australians in a sport I cant help but bite my nails and cheer when they win or groan when they miss out.
